Gas prices
Posted On 07/12/2008 09:37:36 by SusiQ

Ok - I'm sick and tired of being held hostage by the oil producing nations!  My daily commute is 45 mins to an hour and with gas now over the $4 a gallon mark - well - I may have to invest in a bicycle to get to work!  Makes me wonder if Bush is really going to do anything about it before he leaves office.  Let's face it - his family fortune was made in the oil industry...

It's shameful that these days both parents have to work just to stay afloat.  I know a lot of people that work a full day job and then a part time job too.  Gone are the days where mum stayed at home and looked after the kids.  Now we have to farm them out to daycare and work just to be able to afford that!  Factor in the rising gas prices and the corresponding rising prices at the grocery store and no wonder there are thousands of people defaulting on their mortgages and going into foreclosure and bankruptcy.  And who says that we are not in a recession?

As long we have politicians which want only to line there own pockets. Allowing the oil industry to lobby and hinder the development of inexpensive fules or to drill on public land .... and letting these companies getting away with Highway robbery ...... that long all of us will have to suffer.
It is scarry how many people make $6 - $8 an hour and have to feed a family. Some have a job as a second income. I wonder how some survive .......
